Role description
Position : GSS Mud Logging Analyst / Wellsite Data AnalystDuration : 6 + monthsLocation : New Iberia, LA
The GSS Mud Logging Analyst is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to customers. The GSS Mud Logging Analyst identifies opportunities to improve service delivery, implements standard work, and manages risk during service delivery. This person monitors the well to provide timely and factual information to our customers; maintain sensors, equipment, and data acquisition equipment; and delivers high quality data to the customer at the wellsite.
β’ Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
β’ Monitor, record, and process well data and parameters, ensuring the integrity and reliability of well data.
β’ Compile the End of Well Report, ad hoc reports requested by customers, and daily reports.
β’ Interact with personnel and customer representatives from other service companies professionally at the wellsite.
β’ Maintain confidentiality of customer well data.
β’ Identify opportunities to improve the service delivery process.
β’ Participate in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs.
β’ Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
β’ Maintain the required safety training.
Key Responsibilities
Describe lithology and rock samples
Perform sample collection
Support mud logging unit operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization in offshore unit
Ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures
Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years preferred, but entry-level candidates and recent grads are welcome
Deepwater experience is a plus, not required
No specific software requiredβtraining provided
Strong teamwork and schedule flexibility
Education Requirements
Bachelorβs degree required
o Geoscience degree preferred
Work Environment
12-hour shifts, averaging 88β92 hours/week while offshore
Rotation: Typically 3 weeks on / 2 weeks off (flexibility required; could be 4x2)
Physical Demands & Safety
Must pass fit-for-duty medical (per onboarding requirements)
Must comply with all offshore safety protocols
