XStore Engineer

Lead Engineer – Oracle Xstore (POS) We’re looking for a Lead Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle Xstore (POS & Back Office) to lead the design, modernization, and scalability of a global retail POS platform. This role focuses on driving upgrades, improving system reliability, and building a strong, long-term POS foundation that supports large-scale store operations. Responsibilities • Lead development, upgrades, and lifecycle management of Oracle Xstore • Drive version upgrades, patching, and platform modernization • Enhance configuration frameworks (store-level, global/local, dynamic configs) • Improve system reliability, observability, and operational performance • Ensure global compliance (tax, fiscalization, privacy, transaction standards) • Build scalable frameworks and services for POS extensibility • Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and platform optimization • Collaborate cross-functionally with Architecture, Security, Infra, and Ops • Mentor engineers and drive best practices across teams Requirements • 7+ years engineering experience with strong Oracle Xstore expertise • Experience with upgrades, migrations, and POS platform modernization • Strong Java skills + experience with REST APIs and distributed systems • Deep understanding of retail POS systems and store operations • Experience with observability (logs, metrics, monitoring, alerting) • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional technical initiatives Nice to Have • International POS experience (tax, fiscalization, compliance) • Store networking, offline/failover systems • Automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) • Experience modernizing legacy retail platforms
