Job Title: 13+ Years AWS DevOps Engineer- W2
Nature of Contract: Hybrid - Locals only
Location: Location: Houston, TX (day 1 onboarding onsite / in-office presence required 3x/week)
Contract Duration: 12+ Months
JOB DETAILS:
Job Responsibilities:
β’ Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
β’ Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and business stakeholders.
β’ Optimize AWS environments for performance, cost, and regulatory compliance within the Energy domain.
β’ Ensure high standards of security and compliance based on best practices and industry standards.
β’ Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in production and non-production environments.
β’ Manage CI/CD pipelines and support containerized workloads using ECS, EKS, and Docker.
β’ Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs and operational processes.
Required Skills:
β’ 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and architecture.
β’ Strong expertise in Terraform for IaC.
β’ Proficient in AWS services: VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, etc.
β’ Experience in the Energy/Utilities sector with understanding of common data models and compliance workflows.
β’ Proficient in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Code Pipeline).
β’ Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or equivalent.
β’ Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Knowledge of cloud security and cost optimization best practices.
β’ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
β’ AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer).
β’ Familiarity with energy standards like NERC CIP, IEC 61850, OpenADR.
β’ Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
β’ Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud infrastructure environments.
