Role description
Job Title: 13+ Years AWS DevOps Engineer- W2 Nature of Contract: Hybrid - Locals only Location: Location: Houston, TX (day 1 onboarding onsite / in-office presence required 3x/week) Contract Duration: 12+ Months JOB DETAILS: Job Responsibilities: β€’ Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure using Terraform. β€’ Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes. β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and business stakeholders. β€’ Optimize AWS environments for performance, cost, and regulatory compliance within the Energy domain. β€’ Ensure high standards of security and compliance based on best practices and industry standards. β€’ Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in production and non-production environments. β€’ Manage CI/CD pipelines and support containerized workloads using ECS, EKS, and Docker. β€’ Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure designs and operational processes. Required Skills: β€’ 5+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and architecture. β€’ Strong expertise in Terraform for IaC. β€’ Proficient in AWS services: VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, etc. β€’ Experience in the Energy/Utilities sector with understanding of common data models and compliance workflows. β€’ Proficient in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Code Pipeline). β€’ Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or equivalent. β€’ Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. β€’ Knowledge of cloud security and cost optimization best practices. β€’ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: β€’ AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer). β€’ Familiarity with energy standards like NERC CIP, IEC 61850, OpenADR. β€’ Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack). β€’ Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud infrastructure environments.
