Can recruiters use this service?

Yes — recruiters are absolutely welcome. We can also work on a split-fee basis if that suits you better. Just get in touch for a quick call and we can discuss negotiated rates.

How big is your audience / community?

Our network is over 9,000 strong and growing by 1,200+ new members each month. But it’s not just the size — it’s the access. Because we spent the first part of our careers as freelancers ourselves, we’ve built deep trust in the community. Freelancers come to us first — often before they even list themselves as ‘open to work.’ We know who’s available, and who’s worth your time.

How does the success based fee work?

You only pay when you successfully hire someone. If you don’t find the right fit, there’s no cost. The fee is 12.5% of the freelancer’s monthly net earnings, regardless of the type of contract they work on with you. It’s invoiced at the end of each calendar month and due within 7 days. This means you can spread the cost over the duration of the engagement, rather than paying it all upfront.

What's the benefits of community-led hiring vs. traditional?

You skip the cold outreach and middlemen. Instead, you tap into a trusted freelance community that’s been built specifically for data roles. Members get referred directly, come with community endorsements, and are actively looking for freelance opportunities.

Where is your community based?

Our core community is based in the UK, USA, and India — but we also work with freelancers from around the world. We prioritise talent that aligns with your time zone, budget, communication style, and technical needs.

Is there a minimum contract length you help source for?

We mainly focus on contracts that are at least 2 months in duration, though we can be flexible depending on your needs. Our sweet spot is freelancers who embed for 3–12 months on key projects.

Is there a minimum day rate you hire for?

Yes — £200 per day is the minimum rate we work with if you want to hire through DFH, regardless of where the freelancer is located. Some geographical markets will naturally expect higher rates, while in markets that may traditionally accept less, this baseline ensures you're still attracting top-tier talent. We can also advise you on regionally fair rates depending on the type of role and where you’re hiring — to help you stay competitive without overpaying.

How are the contracts set up?

You contract directly with the freelancer. This keeps things simple, transparent, and free from hidden markups. You pay the freelancer what they charge — nothing more. If you need support setting up contracts, we can advise and connect you with trusted partners we work with regularly.

Can you tell me more about your guarantee?

If your hire doesn’t work out within the first month, we’ll find you a replacement at no extra cost. We only want to get paid when the hire is a success — simple as that.

Can you tell me more about the community referral program?

Our freelancers get rewarded for referring other top talent. That means when you post a role, you’re not just reaching our network — you’re tapping into their extended network too. It leads to stronger, more trusted recommendations.

When we’re actively sourcing for a role, we incentivise our community to help — we cut them in on the fee when they make a successful referral. We're not here to make a quick buck; we’re here to find you the right person. What experience do you have working in data & analytics?

We’re data people first and foremost. We've worked at places like Accenture, then transitioned into freelancing — consulting across large teams, startups, and everything in between. We've been in the trenches ourselves and understand how critical a great hire is. We've been on both sides of this process — hiring and being hired — so we know what matters.

Can DFH help us to find a permanent employee?

Our current focus is on contract roles, but if you find someone through DFH and want to bring them on permanently, we’re happy to support that transition. Just let us know and we can adjust the fee structure.

Can you help me determine what type of freelancer I need?

Free consultations are standard. On our initial call, we’ll work with you to understand the type of project you're running, who you need, why you need them, and what traits or non-negotiables are important to make it a success.

If you'd like a second opinion from a domain expert, we also offer a paid project-scoping workshop with one of our trusted freelancers. They’ll help you shape the scope, define the profile, and ensure you're hiring the right person to get the job done. The cost of the workshop is deducted from your first month’s fee if you go ahead and hire through DFH.

How quickly can you find candidates?

Most clients get their first batch of qualified candidates within 3–5 working days. If it’s urgent, let us know — we can fast-track the process and tap into our active pool immediately.

How does this differ from Toptal or Upwork?

We’re not a generic platform — we’re a niche data community. That means no sifting through hundreds of mismatched profiles or generic proposals. Every freelancer is hand-picked or recommended by someone in the DFH network.
