We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer. This role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud migration, systems administration, networking, and enterprise infrastructure management.
Local candidates only as they will be required to be onsite 2-3 (downtown Atlanta office) days per week.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead the design, deployment, and support of hybrid cloud environments leveraging AWS and Azure.
β’ Plan and execute migrations from on-premises data centers to cloud platforms.
β’ Serve as a senior-level Systems Administrator, supporting the full IT service lifecycle (design, transition, operations, and continuous improvement).
β’ Configure and manage LAN/WAN environments including firewalls, routers, route tables, ACLs, and DNS.
β’ Provide support for enterprise platforms such as:
β’ Application Servers: JBOSS, Tomcat
β’ Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Amazon Aurora, and other DBaaS solutions
β’ Operating Systems: Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Unix
β’ Load Balancers and Storage Solutions
β’ Develop automation scripts for provisioning and system management (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
β’ Integrate third-party applications and hardware into secure, connected environments.
β’ Perform capacity planning and contribute to disaster recovery/business continuity strategies.
β’ Apply ITIL and DevOps methodologies to optimize service delivery and operations.
β’ Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and ensure infrastructure compliance with SDLC standards.
β’ Troubleshoot complex system issues and implement effective solutions.
β’ Monitor infrastructure performance and recommend improvements.
β’ Integrate systems with Active Directory and maintain security and compliance standards.
β’ Stay current on cybersecurity best practices and apply them in cloud/infrastructure environments.
β’ Communicate effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Occasional in-state travel to agency locations as required.
Required Skills & Competencies
β’ 2-3 years of experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure support.
β’ Hands-on experience with cloud architecture, deployment, and migration in AWS and Azure.
β’ Strong networking knowledge and enterprise IT infrastructure management.
β’ Scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
β’ Understanding of IT security principles, especially in government or regulated environments.
β’ Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps best practices.
β’ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
β’ Experience working with or within public sector/government agencies is a plus.
