Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accountant III in Saint Louis, MO. Summary: The Accountant III is a senior-level accounting professional responsible for performing advanced and complex financial analysis, reporting, and accounting functions with minimal oversight. This role requires deep expertise in accounting principles, the ability to managing multiples priorities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Accountant III plays a key role in mentoring junior staff, improving processes, and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational goals. Responsibilities
β’ Maintains and oversees the accuracy of the general ledger and financial records; Develops customized schedules to facilitate the monitoring of specific general ledger accounts for financial managers
β’ Prepares and reviews complex journal entries, including those related to accruals, allocations, and intercompany transactions
β’ Prepares, analyzes, and interprets financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory standards
β’ Performs advanced variance analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities
β’ Generates and presents detailed financial reports to leadership; Assists in the preparation of the quarterly financial package for the Board and third parties, including financial information, performance indicators, narratives of business events and variances, etc.
β’ Assists in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Requirements
β’ Minimum 4 Year/Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance (IT coursework preferred); Graduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance (IT coursework preferred) desired
β’ Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience preferred; Public transportation or governmental accounting preferred
β’ In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
β’ Proficiency in accounting software (ex. SAP, Oracle, and QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (ex.: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with leadership and cross-functional teams
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines win a dynamic environment
β’ Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
β’ Experience with regulatory compliance such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), preferred
β’ Expertise in financial modeling and data visualization tools (ex. Power BI, Tableau) preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
