Primary Skills: US GAAP Expertise, Journal Entries Proficient, Reconciliation Strong, Compensation Accounting Expert, SAP Software Knowledge Contract Type:  W2 Duration:  6+ Months Location: San Jose, CA or Lehi, UT (Hybrid) Pay Range: $50 - $55 per hour on W2 Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to support General Ledger (GL) transactional activities across JAPAC and EMEA regions. This role involves month-end close, compensation accounting, reconciliations, and process optimization, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and leveraging automation/AI tools to improve efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Support GL transactional activities including journal entry preparation and posting in SAP • Prepare and upload account reconciliations in AssureNet • Manage monthly accruals, prepaid expenses, and cash forecasting • Participate in month-end and quarter-end close processes • Handle compensation accounting (payroll, PTO, bonuses, commissions, etc.) in line with U.S. GAAP • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies/root causes • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve reconciling items • Leverage AI/automation tools to improve reconciliation and accounting processes • Support payroll-related bank transaction clearing and perform UAT for GL coding • Provide accounting insights and data support for finance teams • Conduct flux analysis and provide commentary on variances • Assist with quarterly and annual audits • Handle ad hoc accounting projects and analysis Must-Have Skills: • Strong understanding of Accounting principles and U.S. GAAP • 6-9 years of relevant accounting experience • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines • Problem-solving mindset with structured and analytical thinking • Experience identifying inefficiencies and improving processes Industry Experience: • Accounting / Finance domain • Experience in multinational or global organizations handling multiple regions (JAPAC, EMEA preferred) • Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP and reconciliation tools like BlackLine/AssureNet • Familiarity with AI tools, automation, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus ABOUT AKRAYA Akraya is an award-winning IT staffing firm consistently recognized for our commitment to excellence and a thriving work environment. Most recently, we were recognized Stevie Employer of the Year 2025, SIA Best Staffing Firm to work for 2025, Inc 5000 Best Workspaces in US (2025 & 2024) and Glassdoor's Best Places to Work (2023 & 2022)!
