Role description
Duffley Law is a growing Texas-based law firm focused on estate planning and probate. We are looking for an AI Implementer to help us build one of the most technologically advanced estate law firms in the country.
This role exists to identify, design, and implement AI systems that improve how the firm operates. You will work directly with firm leadership to build internal AI tools that help our team work faster, more accurately, and more efficiently.
Examples of projects may include:
AI drafting assistants for estate plans and legal documents
AI-powered internal research tools
AI intake assistants for overflow calls and lead qualification
AI paralegal agents that generate document drafts
AI tools that automate billing, collections, and administrative workflows
AI systems that assist with marketing, content creation, and referral outreach
This is a high-impact role where the right person can fundamentally transform how a modern law firm operates.
Because we are a law firm, security and confidentiality are extremely important. Any systems implemented must protect attorney-client privilege and ensure sensitive information remains secure.
Our Core Values
Everyone is a potential client
Work product is king
Itβs better to be slow and accurate than fast and wrong
Weβre the last line of defense
About the Role
The AI Implementer is responsible for identifying opportunities across the firm where AI and automation can improve efficiency and accuracy, and then designing and building those automations, agents, and tools.
Key Responsibilities
Identify Automation Opportunities
Evaluate workflows across the firm, including intake, marketing, legal document drafting, billing, and operations, to identify where AI and automation can meaningfully improve productivity and consistency.
Design and Implement AI Systems
Build and deploy internal AI tools that improve the efficiency and accuracy of the firmβs work. This will include AI "paralegals" and drafting assistants, research tools, intake agents, marketing automation, and other systems that support legal and administrative workflows. Monitor the performance of implemented AI tools, gather feedback from team members, and refine systems to improve reliability, accuracy, and usability.
Security, Confidentiality & Ethical Compliance
Ensure all AI systems meet strict security standards appropriate for a law firm environment. Design systems that protect attorney-client privilege, prevent confidential client data from being shared with external systems without proper safeguards, comply with applicable legal ethics rules, and maintain secure data storage and processing practices. Work with firm leadership to establish clear guidelines for AI usage within the firm. Continuously evaluate tools, vendors, and architectures to ensure they meet security and confidentiality requirements.
Train and Support Team Members
Introduce new AI tools to the team and provide guidance on how to use them effectively. Ensure systems are easy to adopt and integrated smoothly into the firmβs existing workflows. Document implemented systems and workflows so they can be maintained, improved, and expanded over time.
What Success Looks Like
Attorneys and staff reduce manual work hours by at least 50% in targeted workflows
High-quality first drafts of documents can be generated quickly and consistently in minutes, not hours.
Key workflows across the firm become increasingly automated.
The firm develops a growing library of internal AI tools and agents.
AI & automation flows meaningfully increase the firmβs productivity and operational capacity.
No security incidents.
Qualifications
Experience building and implementing AI tools, automation systems, or AI agents.
Strong familiarity with modern AI systems and automation frameworks.
Experience connecting AI tools with business workflows.
Understanding of security, data privacy, and responsible AI implementation.
Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking ability.
Experience working with law firms or with professional service businesses is a strong plus.
Compensation
$10,000 per month
Contract role with opportunity to switch into a long-term employment role
Performance-based bonuses on a per-project basis
We are excited to welcome someone who is eager to help keep grow our practice in Texas and beyond, and to improve our overall efficiency. This is a start up environment with lots of room for growth!
