AI Data Engineer (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft. As a senior member of the Player and Data Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in building robust data pipelines, crafting sophisticated data models, and delivering innovative data products that directly support creator programs and player experiences at a global scale. You will serve as a critical thinker and technical leader, bridging deep business understanding with engineering excellence to deliver solutions that drive measurable outcomes across AI/ML, marketing, and product systems. Job Responsibilities • Build subject matter expertise across business and data domains to collaborate with data consumers and stakeholders, understand their information needs, and assist with data access • Identify and analyze multi-structured data and metadata from a variety of sources to select and document the most effective and accurate data that fulfills analytics requirements • Design data models, architect dataflows, and develop abstractions to deliver scalable analytics and machine learning solutions that can evolve with changing business needs • Leverage modern data engineering practices and frameworks with an object-oriented approach to architect, build, and maintain automated data pipelines that transform data into clean, enriched, and accurate information • Advance team infrastructure by developing and utilizing frameworks, reusable components, and new capabilities to support the broader analytics mission • Develop enterprise-grade data-serving API endpoints and the underlying data products, analytics solutions, and infrastructure that power them • Partner closely with data scientists, analysts, data engineers, and game teams to align on definitions and deliver solutions at the pace of the business Requirements • Minimum of 4 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, or related software development work • At least 2 years of experience working specifically as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer with regular business collaboration on large enterprise systems • Demonstrated experience delivering analytic solutions and data products that produce measurable business outcomes such as improved performance, enabled decision-making, or supported marketing and product initiatives • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 4 or more years of relevant experience • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3 or more years of relevant experience • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree • Advanced proficiency in Python for data transformation and automation, with 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and managing large-scale datasets • Demonstrated expertise in data modeling with at least 3 years of applied experience • Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale data pipelines that handle logs and event streaming data using modern tools such as Spark and Airflow • Backend development experience building secure and performant enterprise-grade APIs • Cloud platform experience, with a preference for Azure, and a minimum of 2 years working in cloud environments • Working knowledge of DevOps and DataOps practices • Strong data analysis and exploration skills to identify, select, and prepare data for analytics use cases • Business acumen to translate complex business challenges into effective analytics engineering solutions • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of delivering significant business impact • Video game domain knowledge, either as an experienced player or industry professional, is strongly preferred Additional Details • Location: Redmond, WA (Hybrid: 3 days a week) • Duration: 13 months • Pay Range • : $68.50 - $77.50 per hour • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours • Job Status: Non-Exempt • Application Deadline: Apply within 72 hours of the posting date to ensure consideration.
