This is a primarily remote role; however, preference will be given to candidates based in the Atlanta area, as the team meets in the office at least once a month and as needed for project-based collaboration.

Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our enterprise Data & Insights team on a contract-to-hire basis. This individual will work across the full machine learning and data science stack, from data acquisition and pipeline development to model research, training, deployment, and optimization.
In the near term, this role will focus on projects extracting insights from unstructured text across multiple data sources, requiring expertise in large language models (LLMs), inference, and fine-tuning, along with strong general machine learning skills. Deep learning experience β particularly in building models from sequential data β will be considered a strong plus.
This role is ideal for someone motivated by building reproducible, high-impact data science solutions that directly improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Partner with business stakeholders to design and deliver innovative data science solutions aligned to enterprise goals.
β’ Build and refine predictive models using advanced Python and machine learning techniques, including NLP and LLMs.
β’ Perform exploratory data analysis across structured and unstructured datasets, identifying patterns and insights that drive business value.
β’ Develop, fine-tune, and validate text classifier algorithms and generative AI applications.
β’ Build and maintain reproducible code, data pipelines, and dashboards to communicate insights.
β’ Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, enabling data-driven decision-making.
β’ Collaborate across the enterprise on the definition, requirements, and delivery of data science products within an agile framework.
β’ Contribute to ongoing process improvement and best practices for the Data & Insights team.
Requirements
β’ Education: Bachelorβs degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience (Masterβs degree preferred).
β’ Experience:
β’ Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience developing NLP/LLM solutions using machine learning and deep learning.
β’ Experience fine-tuning, validating, and deploying LLM-based models for text inference.
β’ Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and unstructured data.
β’ Prior experience with healthcare data, including EPIC systems.
β’ Skills:
β’ Advanced proficiency in Python.
β’ Experience with Snowflake and Azure Machine Learning Studio.
β’ Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI.
β’ Strong communication skills with the ability to present to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Deep learning expertise, especially building models from sequential data.
β’ Experience with cloud-based analytics services beyond Azure AML.
β’ Background in AI/ML Ops and GenAI model fine-tuning.
