Trillion Technology Solutions is seeking a strategic and execution-focused AI Development Enablement Lead to launch and drive an internal Labs initiative focused on identifying, evaluating, and standardizing AI-powered toolsets to support software development across Trillion's Government consulting portfolio.
This role requires someone who is highly organized and self-directed, with a strong understanding of modern development workflows, but more importantly, someone who is willing and able to roll up their sleeves and evaluate tools directly. While input and feedback will be provided by developers, DevSecOps engineers, and security SMEs, those teams will have limited availability-so the person in this role must be comfortable performing hands-on trials, creating demos, producing comparisons, and ultimately driving the analysis and recommendations themselves.
The focus begins with the software development lifecycle (e.g., code generation, code review, CI/CD integration, test automation, documentation), with potential expansion into other areas such as proposal writing, internal research, knowledge management, and content automation.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking, hands-on experimentation, and the ability to build consensus and drive adoption across a diverse technical organization.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Lead and manage the internal AI Labs initiative, defining a lightweight but structured framework for piloting and evaluating tools.
β’ Research, trial, and assess AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf/Codeium, Qodo, GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer) with limited day-to-day support from developers.
β’ Translate organizational requirements and feedback into testable use cases and evaluation criteria.
β’ Directly use, configure, and analyze AI-assisted tools in real-world scenarios to assess usability, productivity impact, and compliance fit.
β’ Collaborate with DevSecOps, security, and engineering stakeholders to ensure alignment with RMF, STIG, FedRAMP, and software delivery standards.
β’ Produce clear, defensible recommendations-complete with tradeoffs, rollout plans, and measurable outcomes.
β’ Develop a roadmap for rollout and adoption across multiple projects, including training, documentation, and change management support.
β’ Monitor emerging trends in AI tooling, with a focus on open-source, on-premise, or FedRAMP-compliant solutions applicable to DoD environments.
Required Qualifications
β’ Strong organizational and execution skills-able to independently manage trials, evaluations, and documentation.
β’ Hands-on experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, or technical research roles, particularly within complex or regulated environments.
β’ Comfort using and evaluating AI-powered development tools directly without needing continuous support from engineering teams.
β’ Ability to take high-level goals and convert them into practical evaluation frameworks and implementation plans.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce internal briefs, tool justifications, and stakeholder presentations.
β’ U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to work on Government contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or other Federal software programs.
β’ Familiarity with AI tools for development, including AI coding assistants, test generation, PR analysis, and code documentation.
β’ Exposure to security and compliance requirements such as RMF, STIG, FedRAMP, and SBOM-related tooling (e.g., Syft, Grype).
β’ Understanding of CI/CD workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Nexus) and container-based environments (e.g., Kubernetes).
