Role description
IDR's client is seeking an AI/ML Software Engineer to design, build, and deploy production AI systems in a healthcare environment. This role combines Agentic AI development, LLM integration, MLOps/LLMOps, cloud-native engineering, and secure healthcare data practices to deliver scalable AI solutions that support critical business initiatives.
Required Skills
• 7+ years of software engineering and/or machine learning engineering experience with recent hands-on AI/LLM development
• Advanced Python development experience, including APIs, asynchronous programming, testing, automation, and production services
• Experience designing and implementing AI agents, LLM integrations, MCP architectures, and agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or Google ADK
• Strong understanding of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, ML lifecycle management, model evaluation, monitoring, and AI guardrails
• Experience building data pipelines, working with SQL/NoSQL databases, and supporting data governance initiatives at scale
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, including cloud-native deployments and CI/CD practices
• Knowledge of HIPAA and PHI requirements, including secure AI implementation within healthcare environments
• Experience with MLOps and/or LLMOps methodologies
Education Requirements
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Health Science, or a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience OR
• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR
• High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant experience
