Role: AI/ML Gen AI Professional Location: London (2days/week On-Site) Job Type: Contract Job Summary: A seasoned, director‑level AI professional to lead the design, delivery, and governance of enterprise‑scale data and AI solutions. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands‑on expertise in AI/ML and GenAI, and proven experience delivering in highly regulated environments. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver AI‑powered platforms that align with strategic business objectives, particularly within Balance Sheet Management (BSM). Years of experience needed: 15+ years. Key Responsibilities: • Lead cross‑functional engineering teams to design, build, and deliver data‑intensive platforms and AI‑powered solutions aligned to strategic business needs. • Oversee end‑to‑end delivery across the data and AI lifecycle for Balance Sheet Management (BSM), from data ingestion and modelling through to ML model development, deployment, and ongoing monitoring. • Act as the AIPX Delivery Manager, leading the design and build of robust data pipelines and the creation of high‑quality derived data products, ensuring alignment with AIPX architecture, performance standards, and business consumption needs. • Provide strong technical direction across data architecture, cloud engineering, and AI/ML capabilities to deliver scalable, secure, and well‑governed solutions. • Collaborate with product owners, data teams, and business stakeholders to prioritise backlogs, manage risks, and translate business requirements into actionable technical plans. • Establish and enforce engineering best practices, including coding standards, DevOps/MLOps pipelines, testing frameworks, and documentation, to ensure high‑quality and reliable delivery. • Drive innovation by evaluating emerging data and AI technologies, leading proofs of concept, and embedding responsible AI principles across all project work. • Work effectively across multiple teams within the bank, contributing to large‑scale application development and enterprise initiatives. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required • Strong knowledge of AI techniques and approaches, with demonstrated experience applying AI in previous roles. • Strong knowledge of AI tools and platforms to accelerate idea‑to‑value delivery. • Strong understanding of Generative AI models and Large Language Models (LLMs), with the ability to determine the most appropriate models for specific use cases. • Experience delivering solutions and providing production support in a highly regulated organization. • Proven experience running fast‑paced delivery teams with close alignment to business functions. • Knowledge of agentic workflows, orchestration patterns, and their business and technical advantages. • Experience with spec‑driven development and modern AI and engineering practices to deliver an automated Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Strong understanding of large‑scale application development and enterprise technology landscapes
