Role description
Aladdin Derivative Operations SME / Business Analyst
We are seeking an experienced Derivative Operations Subject Matter Expert and Business Analyst with hands-on Aladdin platform expertise. This role bridges operations and technology, driving process improvement, platform optimisation, and business change across our derivatives trading lifecycle.
You will act as the go-to specialist for OTC and listed derivatives processing within the Aladdin ecosystem, working closely with front office, middle office, fund accounting, and technology teams to deliver operational excellence and support strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Subject Matter Expertise
• Provide SME guidance on the end-to-end derivatives trade lifecycle — trade capture, confirmation, clearing, settlement, and position management
• Support BAU operations across Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD) and OTC products (interest rate swaps, FX, options, credit derivatives)
• Oversee margin and collateral workflows, including daily margin calls, dispute resolution, and regulatory reporting
• Perform and oversee reconciliations (trades, cash, positions) and drive timely exception resolution
• Maintain accurate security and counterparty static data within Aladdin and downstream systems
• Monitor regulatory developments (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, SFTR, UMR) and translate requirements into operational processes
Business Analysis & Change
• Gather, document, and validate business requirements for derivatives-related change initiatives
• Produce functional specifications, process maps, and workflow diagrams for new functionality and system enhancements
• Partner with technology teams to design, test, and implement Aladdin configuration changes and integrations
• Lead UAT cycles — develop test scripts, coordinate testing, and manage defect resolution
• Identify automation and straight-through-processing (STP) opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
• Support data migration, platform upgrades, and new product onboarding
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the primary liaison between operations, front office, fund accounting, compliance, and technology
• Translate complex operational and technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Facilitate workshops, working groups, and steering committees to drive consensus and decision-making
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years in derivatives operations within asset management, hedge funds, or securities services
• Strong Aladdin experience — trade management, position keeping, and reporting modules
• Deep knowledge of OTC derivatives (IRS, CDS, FX forwards/options) and ETD (futures, listed options)
• Solid understanding of collateral management, CSA terms, and margin processes
• Experience with trade confirmation platforms (e.g., MarkitWire, DTCC, Bloomberg VCON)
• Proven BA experience — requirements gathering, process mapping, UAT coordination
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros); SQL or Python exposure a plus
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks: EMIR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, SFTR, UMR
Agency Submission Disclaimer
We kindly request that recruitment agencies and staffing firms refrain from submitting unsolicited resumes or candidate profiles to our company. We do not accept unsolicited resumes from agencies without a valid, signed agreement in place.
Any resumes or candidate information submitted without prior authorization will be considered unsolicited and may be used by our organization without any obligation to pay fees, commissions, or other compensation of any kind.
