Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and driven Epic/EHR - Analytics Governance Analyst to join our Big Four clientβs team as a remote contractor for a 6+ month engagement. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing enterprise-wide analytics governance within the healthcare domain, with a strong emphasis on metadata management. The ideal candidate is adept at collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure the data assets are consistently defined, well-documented, easily discoverable, and trusted across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Own and maintain metadata documentation, including comprehensive table and column descriptions across enterprise data platforms.
β’ Generate, present, and clearly explain metric definitions and metadata standards to the Analytics Governance Council and other stakeholder groups.
β’ Collaborate closely with data owners and stewards to ensure the consistency and accuracy of business definitions and data lineage documentation.
β’ Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Advanced Analytics Governance Framework.
β’ Partner with analytics teams to guarantee governed metrics are tightly aligned with business objectives and applied consistently across all dashboards and reports.
β’ Maintain, enhance, and optimize metadata repositories using tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog and Metric Insights.
β’ Promote the adoption and optimal usage of AI tools (e.g., copilots) that leverage metadata and prompt engineering to improve data discovery and utilization.
β’ Act as a liaison between technical specialists and business users, ensuring that all metadata is understandable, actionable, and business-friendly.
β’ Continuously contribute to the improvement of governance processes, standards, and documentation best practices.
Skills & Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field.
β’ 6+ years of demonstrated experience in business intelligence analytics, data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging.
β’ 4+ years of experience with Electronic Health Records (EHRs), with particular hands-on experience with Epic Cogito.
β’ Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, data lineage, and business glossary creation/maintenance.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical subjects into business-relevant language.
β’ Proven experience fostering collaboration among business and technical stakeholders.
β’ Experience working with enterprise metadata/cataloging tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Metric Insights, or similar.
β’ Exposure to (and preferably direct experience with) AI tools that use prompting, such as copilots, is a plus.
β’ In-depth knowledge of healthcare data and analytics, including key regulatory requirements and best practices.
