What would a typical day look like for you?
You’ll work as an Analytics Engineer in our Data & Analytics Team within our Technology & Digital Development team which is core to our innovative digital transformation journey and delivery of the corporate strategy objectives. This role involves modelling data to provide clean, accurate datasets for business units to use for tactical decision-making, regulatory reporting, commercial and customer outcomes.
Executing a wide range of data analytics projects that are varied in nature and demand a wide spectrum of skills from data manipulation through to data visualisation. You’ll also focus on contributing to the creation of new technical solutions and the automation of manual processes through collaboration with various business functions and teams. While you will support data engineers to maintain data pipelines, you’ll also take the lead in complex cases and mentor your colleagues.
If data and numeracy interpretation is your forte and you have strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines, then the Analytics Engineer role is the one for you!
You’ll need to stay informed about emerging AI technologies that can enhance and improve our business operations within your key fields of responsibility.
Your skills:
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
• Previous experience as an analytics developer or engineer.
• A proven track record at gathering and implementing user requirements through dashboard and analytical tools
• Proficient in at least 1 BI analytical applications (Qlikview/QlikSense Tableau, etc.)
• Ability to think logically, a high level of numeracy and the ability to interpret data.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications, then translate into high quality analytics solutions.
• Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to work at pace to tight deadlines.
• Strong service delivery ethic with a focus on quality, competency and accuracy.
• Good communicator who is able to translate and adapt message for different stakeholder groups including technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
• 3rd Level degree in IT or related STEM discipline
• Experience in design, development and deployment of data warehouses or relational/analytical/multi-dimensional data marts
• Experience with Alteryx
• Experience with IBM DataStage
• Good working knowledge of Python
• Experience SSIS
• Experience with Hadoop and Spark
