Role description
About Hookflash
Hookflash is a dedicated digital optimisation agency, based in London. We previously helped to build one of the largest and most well-respected digital analytics agencies in the UK. Our founders have over 35 years combined experience in the field and are passionate about helping businesses win with data. We’re a small but growing agency looking to become the standard-bearers for web analytics, CRO and SEO.
We help brands get a dataset that they trust, that's comprehensive and that's future-proofed. We enable them to use the data via training, and dashboarding support. And we drive value from the data by connecting it with other sources of data to build single sources of truth and predictive models. We want to deliver business growth through the effective use of data.
We are a small but fast-growing agency, looking for people who want to shape what our agency looks like. We are determined to build the best place to work in digital analytics. A place where time is not just set aside but actively encouraged, to focus on innovation, learning and development (and even the odd paper airplane competition if we’re all together). We're looking to eradicate Sunday Blues from our team's vocabulary.
The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Analytics Manager to cover maternity leave and support our Analytics team in delivering high-quality web analytics implementation work and Google Cloud reporting solutions. As an Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, implementing analytics solutions, enabling clients and supporting with our Google Cloud, in particular BigQuery and Dataform, projects.
We love hearing from enthusiastic and passionate data geeks who enjoy helping organisations become more data-centric, and successful, through use of analytics. Whether you get your thrills from designing a kick-ass configuration, implementing top-drawer tracking or finding incredible insights, then this role could be for you.
We work with clients of all sizes, so we can offer variety and independence in the work you'll be doing. The success of our business, and our client's businesses, is built around the happiness and work of our team, and we're committed to providing the best environment in data.
What will you be doing?
This is a fixed-term contract, with the opportunity to go permanent depending on business and individual performance. With one of our team on maternity leave, this role is to step in and support on a variety of existing engagements including GA360 support, implementation and audit work, and across various Google Cloud projects. Core responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with internal teams and clients to define analytics strategies, identifying key metrics and data sources to successfully measure app & website performance.
• Designing solutions and DataLayer scripts based on client’s requirements and analytics strategies and consult with relevant stakeholders involved in execution.
• Implementing measurement plans using tag management tools such as Google Tag Manager and Adobe Data Collection (Adobe Launch).
• Developing custom dashboards and reports using tools such as Looker Studio a to provide data visualization and insights to clients.
• Process GA4 data and other data sources in BigQuery, using tools such as BigQuery Pipelines, Dataform, etc.
• Identify opportunities for internal process improvement and innovation in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Building strong relationships with clients, serving as the main point of contact for client projects.
• Supporting the development of junior team members through training and mentoring.
What are we looking for?
• Over 4 years of experience in the industry, with a focus on tagging (using Adobe Launch or Google Tag Manager) and analytics (using Adobe or Google Analytics)
• Had agency-side experience, working across multiple clients at any one time
• Experience in leading complex GA4 implementations
• At least one years experience in BigQuery and the wider Google Cloud Platform
• Had some experience in management and/or leading client teams
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Perks of the job
• Competitive salary. This will be commensurate with experience but we're looking at Manager-level candidates. Salary band is approx. £45-55k.
• Holiday: 25 days leave per year + Xmas closing (an additional 3-4 days typically) - pro-rated
• Volunteering: 2 days per year
• Work abroad: up to 4 week each year
• Unlimited access to mental health and well-being support via our OpenUp platform
• Pension: 8% (4% from you, matched by 4% from us)
• Dedicated 20% time: You’ll be booked on clients a max of 60% of your time, with 20% ring-fenced for learning and development. That may be self-development, being part of our internal sessions, or upskilling/training. We don’t have set budgets but we strongly encourage our team to go to conferences and trainings, where Hookflash covers the cost
• Home office set-up: no set budget but we want you to be able to work as well at home as you do in the office! We’ll happily set you up with desk, chair, monitor, hardware etc
• Quarterly paid socials: and we're open to suggestions....
• Office working: Hybrid, expectation would be 3 days a week in your first 3 months, reducing to a mandatory 2 days a week following that. Shoreditch-based office.
