About the Role
We are staffing a Lead API Connect Developer/Engineer for our direct client. The selected candidate will lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and implementing APIs & applications while ensuring compliance with DevSecOps best practices.
Key Skills & Technologies
✅ IBM DataPower v10 / IBM API Connect v10
✅ AWS API Gateway, Lambda
✅ SwaggerHub (UI path to manage APIs)
✅ Jenkins, Python, Terraform (nice to have)
✅ Java 21, Spring, DB2 (good to have)
✅ MongoDB (must-have backend experience)
Responsibilities
• Lead API design, development & governance across enterprise systems
• Build web services, REST APIs, Microservices, & integration flows
• Onboard services onto APIM platforms (preferably IBM API Connect)
• Collaborate with CI/CD teams to create custom Jenkins pipelines
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards & API governance framework
• Publish APIs, generate analytics reports, & manage lifecycle
• Provide troubleshooting & production release support
• Guide & mentor team members, drive innovation & best practices
Preferred Qualifications
🌟 Hands-on with AWS cloud, Kubernetes, containerization
🌟 Experience with OAuth, JWT, RBAC, Identity & Access Management
🌟 Familiarity with Venafi Systems, CyberArk, Web Security, GraphQL
🌟 Strong documentation, API guidelines, & governance expertise
