Role description
Role: Sr. API Developer Location: NJ (Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) Duration: Long Term Primary Skills: Nest.js, Node.js, MongoDB, AWS, Java. Skills: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 5–8 years of software development experience. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. • Experience working in Agile development teams • Strong experience in NestJS, Node.js, and TypeScript • Hands-on experience with MongoDB • Experience with AWS Cloud services and cloud-native application development • Good understanding of Microservices Architecture and REST APIs • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines • Experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, OpenAI APIs, Claude) to improve development productivity and build AI-enabled solutions • Familiarity with Prompt Engineering, AI-assisted development, and LLM integrations • Knowledge of application security, Git, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices • Insurance Domain Experience • Experience in the Mortgage Insurance domain is preferred. • Experience working with insurance platforms or enterprise policy systems is an advantage. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain applications using NestJS and Node.js. • Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices for enterprise insurance applications. • Design and optimize MongoDB data models and database performance. • Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS. • Able to develop golden records, mapping, data lineage, ontology services using Mongo DB and NestJS. • Integrate Generative AI capabilities into applications where applicable. • Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle. • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning. • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices. • Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance and reliability. Preferred Skills: • Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms. • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation). • Exposure to Guidewire or other insurance platforms. • Experience integrating AI services, vector databases, RAG, or AI agents into enterprise applications. • Passion for continuous learning and adopting emerging AI technologies.
