Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking an API Engineer in Brooklyn, NY. Summary: We're looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to support the development of mobile shopping experiences. This role focuses on backend/API development and will be part of a cross-functional team that includes product managers, designers, mobile app engineers, and backend developers. Responsibilities: • Design and maintain backend services that power mobile applications • Collaborate with iOS and Android engineers to define and implement API contracts • Conduct technical discovery, propose implementation strategies, and communicate findings clearly • Write comprehensive tests, documentation, and monitoring for new and existing features • Participate in code reviews and project planning discussions • Troubleshoot and monitor critical systems to ensure reliability and performance • Work closely with product and design teams throughout the product lifecycle Requirements • Experience with PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, and Memcached • Strong understanding of API design and integration with frontend systems • Proficiency in backend/API development, particularly in mobile environments • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.
