β’ Architect, install, and manage the Apigee Hybrid runtime on Kubernetes (GKE, EKS, or OpenShift), including control plane integration, networking, and security configurations
β’ Drive capacity planning and infrastructure sizing for Apigee Hybrid clusters based on projected API traffic, availability zones, and IP/CIDR allocations
β’ Configure and manage API policies for traffic management, transformation, caching, and advanced security (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, threat protection)
β’ Implement and enforce API governance standards, environment group strategies, and proxy design conventions
β’ Support the full API lifecycle - from design and mocking to publishing, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and deprecation
β’ Integrate with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for API bundle deployments, shared flows, and environment-specific configuration promotion
β’ Develop and maintain shared flows and reusable proxy patterns for authentication, logging, error handling, and traffic control
β’ Monitor and troubleshoot platform issues using Kubernetes tools (kubectl, helm) and integrate with observability platforms (e.g., Cloud Ops, Prometheus, ELK)
β’ Collaborate with backend teams, security teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless API adoption and runtime stability
β’ Provide technical leadership, documentation, and mentorship to development and platform engineering teams
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
β’ 8+ years of experience.
β’ Strong hands-on experience in API design and proxy development using Apigee Edge, X, and/or Hybrid.
β’ Solid understanding of REST, JSON, XML, and modern API security patterns (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, SAML/SSO).
β’ Experience deploying and operating applications on Kubernetes - with knowledge of pods, services, namespaces, helm, IP/CIDR planning, and cluster sizing.
β’ Proven experience working with DevOps and automation tools (e.g., Maven, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
β’ Exposure to backend integration patterns with systems such as microservices, and legacy systems.
