Role Description Apigee Lead Location: Bolingbrook, IL (Onsite – 3 days biweekly) Duration: 6+ Months Contract Are you an expert in API development with strong hands-on experience in Apigee? Join us as an Apigee Lead and play a key role in designing and deploying scalable, secure APIs for a top client. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy API proxies using Apigee Edge/X/Hybrid Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Key security, and integrate with identity providers (SSO/SAML) Configure request/response policies, error handling, and threat protection Develop and maintain Developer Portals and Self-Service Portal (SSP) capabilities Set up API products, rate plans, and access controls Collaborate with API Product Managers, security teams, and architects Monitor API performance using Apigee Analytics and troubleshoot issues Integrate APIs with backend microservices, legacy systems, and SaaS platforms Drive CI/CD automation for API deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) Create OpenAPI/Swagger specs and test APIs with Postman, SoapUI Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, Engineering, or related field 7+ years in API development; 5+ years hands-on Apigee experience Strong expertise in OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO integration, and API security Experience with Apigee Developer Portal customization Skilled in JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or Java for custom policies Proficient with REST, JSON, XML, HTTP, SOAP Familiar with API monetization, analytics, lifecycle management Understanding of DevOps and container environments (Docker, Kubernetes) Preferred Skills: Apigee Hybrid deployments in GCP or multi-cloud Google Cloud Platform experience or certification Integration with IAM systems (Okta, Azure AD, PingFederate) Knowledge of Redis, Memcached caching Experience with event-driven architectures like Kafka or Pub/Sub #Hiring #ApigeeLead #API #GoogleCloud #GCP #TechJobs
