Position: Application Development | Level 3 (USD) Location: Alpharetta, Georgia Duration: Contract Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join the Realtime Operation Intelligence (RTOI) team. The team is responsible for streaming terabytes of data daily and building large-scale ETL pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, ElasticSearch ELK, Snowflake, and Hadoop. Our applications operate both on-premises and in the cloud, supporting hundreds of dashboards that provide real-time insights and actionable items for business and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of distributed systems architecture, excellent development skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various teams. Responsibilities: • Design and develop ETL pipelines using a wide range of technologies. • Understand distributed systems architecture, design, and tradeoffs. • Work on the full development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. • Collaborate effectively with various teams using strong communication skills. • Learn and adapt to new technologies independently. Qualifications: • 5+ years of application development experience, with at least 2 years in data engineering using Kafka. • Experience writing and running applications on Linux. • 5+ years of coding experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Java, C/C++, or GO. • Proficiency in SQL and database management. Optional: • Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies. • Familiarity with ElasticSearch ELK. Additional Notes: • This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days onsite per week. • Open to candidates in Alpharetta, GA or Menlo Park, CA.
