Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled Application Systems Python Developer to design, develop, and support data pipelines, dashboards, integrations, and migration processes across enterprise systems. This role plays a key part in moving data between legacy and modern platforms, ensuring data quality, and enabling analytics and automation through Python and Power BI.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain data migration scripts, ETL pipelines, and automation workflows using Python
• Design, build, and optimize data models for reporting and analytics
• Create interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI
• Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading between databases, APIs, and enterprise systems
• Optimize data processes for speed, reliability, and scalability
• Work with SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support migration and reporting
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including cloud apps, on-premises systems, and flat files
• Collaborate with business teams to define reporting needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Analyze data quality issues, reconcile datasets, and implement best practices for data integrity
• Implement automation for recurring data tasks and reporting workflows
• Maintain documentation for data processes, source mappings, and migration steps
• Participate in architecture, design, and planning sessions for data modernization projects
• Must have strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail
Required Skills:
• 7 Years - Strong hands-on experience with Python
• 5 Years - Proficiency with Power BI
• 7 Years - Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Ingres)
• 7 Years - Senior level experience writing optimized SQL queries and analyzing existing SQL queries for performance improvements
• 5 Years - Solid understanding of SOAP/REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices
• 7 Years - Experience designing and executing data migration or data conversion projects
• 7 Years - Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
• Experience developing/maintaining applications Zope application server
• Experience developing/maintaining Plone CMS applications
Desired Skills:
• 5 Years - Familiarity with legacy system migration projects
• 5 Years - Experience with large-scale migration or modernization initiatives
• 5 Years - Experience with Java development
• 3 Years - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• 3 Years - Knowledge of Power BI administration, workspaces, gateways, and deployment strategies
• 3 Years - Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines
• 3 Years - Experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenance
