Applications Analyst/ Engineer / Implementation Consultant

Role: Applications Engineer / Implementation Consultant (AE/IC) Remote Duration: Long-term Contract Job Description: Our Applications Engineer / Implementation Consultants (AE/ICs) are hybrid professionals who bridge the gap between customer business needs and technical delivery. This role combines business analysis, solution design, configuration, and hands-on application development to deliver mission-critical, high-quality software solutions that delight end users and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Requirements Analysis • Proactively communicate and collaborate with business analysts and engineering teams to analyze business processes, information needs, and functional requirements. • Serve as a conduit between the business analysts and the software development team to ensure accurate translation of business needs into technical solutions. Application Development & Configuration • Design, develop, and enhance web-based business applications using Java, JavaScript, JSP, and SQL. • Analyze functional requirements and troubleshoot application issues using Java IDEs and other development tools. • Develop rule adapters and write/modify custom JSP pages and configure workflows, business rules, forms, and fields as needed. • Work within J2EE environments (e.g., JBoss, Apache, Tomcat) and support application deployment activities. • Deliver high-quality, well-tested software that meets functional, technical, and performance expectations. Collaboration & Quality • Work closely with business analysts, developers, and QA analysts to design, build, test, and deliver application enhancements and fixes. • Participate in testing and quality control activities to ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria and customer expectations. • Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Answer technical questions from customers and produce corresponding technical documentation per client standards. Multi-Initiative Support • Successfully balance and contribute to multiple initiatives simultaneously. • Work independently with end users while collaborating closely with project managers and delivery leads. • Continuously learn Client products, technologies, and best practices to better support clients and improve solution outcomes. Required Qualifications • 3–5+ years of experience in one or more of the following roles: Applications Engineer, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Implementation Consultant, or similar hybrid role. • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Hands-on experience with: • Java, JavaScript, JSP, and SQL • Web applications and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle) • J2EE architecture and application servers (Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, etc.) • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical and operational requirements. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to digest complex requirements and produce sound designs. • Experience creating detailed requirements and process documentation using industry-standard techniques. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with executives, managers, subject matter experts, developers, and customers. • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. • Capability to quickly learn proprietary software products and apply that knowledge in a client-facing professional services role. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Case Management, workflow, data transaction, or Professional and Occupational Licensing systems. • Knowledge of relational database modeling and design techniques. • Experience facilitating large, multidisciplinary stakeholder groups and driving consensus.
