Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ArcGIS Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead to design, implement, and oversee enterprise-level geospatial solutions and governance frameworks. This role is responsible for driving the development of robust geospatial architectures, ensuring compliance with governance policies, and leading cross-functional collaboration to support enterprise mapping, healthcare, and analytics initiatives.
The Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead will serve as the single point of contact for GIS within the IT organization, guiding stakeholders, mentoring technical staff, and ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant use of geospatial technologies.
Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the design, development, and implementation of ArcGIS-based geospatial architectures supporting enterprise mapping and analytics needs.
β’ Define and enforce geospatial governance policies, metadata standards, and decision-making frameworks for enterprise use.
β’ Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to establish governance frameworks, ensure effective data sharing/integration, and drive stakeholder alignment.
β’ Oversee the creation, management, and quality assurance of GIS datasets (demographic, socioeconomic, health, and program-related data).
β’ Develop and maintain geospatial workflows, architectures, and metadata standards for enterprise platforms.
β’ Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and data scientists to implement best practices in geospatial data management, documentation, and visualization.
β’ Mentor junior GIS staff and provide technical leadership in spatial analysis, web mapping, and application development.
β’ Ensure compliance with state and federal policies, including WCAG 2.0 and data security requirements.
β’ Support advanced integration of SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases, Python scripting, and custom web-based application interfaces.
β’ Explore emerging technologies such as GeoAI, LLMs, and Snowflake data warehouses to enhance platform scalability and innovation.
