Archival Data Specialist

We're hiring two Archival Data Specialists to join a long-term project focused on transforming historical account records into a modern, searchable digital format. This is a rare opportunity to work on a meaningful data modernization initiative, ideal for professionals with a background in banking, finance, or records management, and especially well-suited for those comfortable with micro-fiche film technology. As an Archival Data Specialist, you'll be at the heart of a high-visibility archival project. Your primary task will be to review and transcribe data from micro-fiche film into a digital database. This work supports a major initiative to make historical account data more accessible to the public. Major Duties • Examine archival micro-fiche film records line by line • Extract and transcribe data such as names, contact details, and account types • Enter data into a digital system with precision and consistency • Research unclear or incomplete information to ensure accurate capture • Submit entries for team quality assurance review • Track your productivity and contribute to overall data integrity • Participate in peer reviews to maintain high-quality standards What We’re Looking For • Strong typing and data entry skills (60 WPM preferred) • Intermediate Excel skills (filtering, sorting, tracking metrics) • Excellent reading comprehension (especially for handwritten or faded text) • Attention to detail and ability to stay focused for extended periods • Research and analytical skills to resolve data uncertainties • Prior experience in financial services, banking, or account management is highly desirable • Familiarity with micro-fiche film/machines is a big advantage Why This Role Might Be a Great Fit for You • You enjoy independent, focused work with a clear purpose • You're experienced with archival or legacy systems • You’re looking for a long-term project with potential for extension • You’re a former financial professional interested in re-entering the workforce in a meaningful, project-based role Exciting Opportunity Details • Rate: 29.50/hour • Length of Engagement: ASAP through August 2026 • Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm • Location: Ausitn, TX 78711 (Onsite) • This project is budget-bound and may end earlier or extend depending on available funding • Work is expected to continue through August 2026, with the possibility of extension • Onboarding begins in mid-October, so apply early to be considered!
