Role description
We're hiring two Archival Data Specialists to join a long-term project focused on transforming historical account records into a modern, searchable digital format.
This is a rare opportunity to work on a meaningful data modernization initiative, ideal for professionals with a background in banking, finance, or records management, and especially well-suited for those comfortable with micro-fiche film technology.
As an Archival Data Specialist, you'll be at the heart of a high-visibility archival project. Your primary task will be to review and transcribe data from micro-fiche film into a digital database. This work supports a major initiative to make historical account data more accessible to the public.
Major Duties
β’ Examine archival micro-fiche film records line by line
β’ Extract and transcribe data such as names, contact details, and account types
β’ Enter data into a digital system with precision and consistency
β’ Research unclear or incomplete information to ensure accurate capture
β’ Submit entries for team quality assurance review
β’ Track your productivity and contribute to overall data integrity
β’ Participate in peer reviews to maintain high-quality standards
What Weβre Looking For
β’ Strong typing and data entry skills (60 WPM preferred)
β’ Intermediate Excel skills (filtering, sorting, tracking metrics)
β’ Excellent reading comprehension (especially for handwritten or faded text)
β’ Attention to detail and ability to stay focused for extended periods
β’ Research and analytical skills to resolve data uncertainties
β’ Prior experience in financial services, banking, or account management is highly desirable
β’ Familiarity with micro-fiche film/machines is a big advantage

β’ This project is budget-bound and may end earlier or extend depending on available funding
β’ Work is expected to continue through August 2026, with the possibility of extension
β’ Onboarding begins in mid-October, so apply early to be considered!
