Role description
AI/ML Engineer β Multi-Agent Data Analytics Platform
Harnham, the leading recruitment specialist in Data and AI, is currently partnering with a leading DTC Media Streaming firm that operates across the US.
β’ Role - ML/AI Engineer
β’ Location - Remote
β’ Pay - $70 β 80 per hour W2 ONLY
β’ Length β 12 months
β’ Utilization β 40 hours per week
β’ Benefits β 401K Match, Medical, Dentistry
As an AI/ML Engineer, you will be building an agentic analytics platform: a system of cooperating LLM-powered agents that query data sources, run analysis, generate visualizations, and turn natural-language questions into trustworthy, explainable answers. You will design, build, and operate both the agents and the infrastructure that ensures production reliability, working at the intersection of applied ML, distributed systems, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design and implement multi-agent workflows (planner/executor patterns, tool-calling, routing, memory, and handoff between specialized agents)
β’ Build and maintain tools agents rely on, including SQL generation and validation, data connectors, retrieval pipelines, visualization, and result verification
β’ Develop evaluation frameworks such as offline test suites, golden datasets, LLM-as-judge grading, and regression tracking
β’ Optimize system performance across latency, cost, throughput, and failure handling
β’ Implement observability through tracing, logging, and monitoring for debuggability and auditability
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define correctness in analytics queries and encode it into the system
β’ Stay current with LLM and agent tooling and make pragmatic build vs. buy decisions
Requirements:
β’ 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building ML/AI or LLM-powered production systems
β’ Strong Python skills and experience with modern LLM frameworks (e.g., LangGraph or OpenAI Agent SDK)
β’ Experience with tool/function calling, RAG, prompt design, and agent-based architectures
β’ Hands-on experience with evaluation frameworks and observability tools for LLM systems
β’ Experience with vector databases and retrieval optimization
β’ Experience optimizing LLM systems for cost and latency (e.g., caching, batching, model routing)
β’ Strong data fundamentals including SQL and experience with data warehouses/lakehouses
β’ Strong communication skills and ability to translate ambiguous business questions into technical solutions
This is an excellent opportunity for an ML/AI Engineer to work on cutting-edge agentic systems, shaping how users interact with data through intelligent, explainable analytics platforms. So if you are interested, please apply below or contact CiarΓ‘n at Harnham
