Artificial Intelligence Engineer

AI Developer (Agentic AI) Positions Available: 4 Location: Chicago or NYC (Potential Hybrid) Contract Duration: Approximately 6 Months Role Summary Sesheng is seeking highly skilled contract AI Developers to architect and build our next-generation Agentic AI platform. You will be responsible for developing the core orchestration, governance, and infrastructure components that enable sophisticated, self-healing AI Projects with Agentic Automation. This role requires deep expertise in production-grade distributed systems and proficiency with leading LLM frameworks and modern LLMOps practices. Key Responsibilities • Platform Design & Integration: Design and implement a scalable, modular platform that seamlessly integrates advanced Python-based agent frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel) with low-code/no-code tools (e.g., MS Copilot Studio). • Core Service Development: Develop and implement critical platform services, including agent orchestration, robust prompt and policy management, a tool/connector registry, centralized configuration store, and secure secrets handling. • API & Adaptor Development: Create high-performance APIs, SDKs, and adapters to ensure interoperability across various LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic) and model runtimes, supporting a multi-tenant environment. • Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage AWS expertise to design and deploy platform components using cloud-native services like EKS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB/RDS, Secrets Manager/KMS, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, and IAM. • LLMOps Implementation: Establish and manage a robust LLMOps pipeline covering the entire model lifecycle, including experiment tracking, offline/online evaluation, telemetry, cost and safety monitoring, and A/B testing. Required Qualifications • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of software engineering experience building production-grade distributed systems or high-scale platforms. • Technical Expertise: Expert-level Python skills, including proven experience building robust services, SDKs, and enterprise integrations. • AI/ML & Agentic Focus: Strong foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts and specific, hands-on experience building and deploying AI projects that rely on Agentic Automation. • Framework Fluency: Hands-on experience with modern LLM/agent frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel) and model provider SDKs (OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Anthropic). • Cloud Proficiency: Deep, practical experience configuring, deploying, and optimizing applications within the AWS ecosystem. • DevOps/MLOps: Proven background in implementing MLOps best practices for LLMs, ensuring model reliability, performance, and governance in production.
