Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Contract AI Engineer | Outside IR35 | Agentic AI / LLMs / RAG Conquer AI is hiring a Contract AI Engineer We’re looking for a highly capable, hands-on AI Engineer with a strong traditional software engineering background and deep applied AI experience. This is an Outside IR35 contract working on greenfield AI projects for enterprise clients. You’ll be helping design and build real-world systems using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, agentic AI, and workflow automation. This is not a research-only role. We need someone who can build production-grade systems, integrate with existing platforms, and move quickly from problem definition to working software. What you’ll be working on: Agentic AI workflow automation LLM-powered applications RAG and knowledge systems Vector database architecture and retrieval pipelines Document intelligence and information extraction AI systems that connect into business workflows API integrations and backend services Greenfield client projects and internal Conquer AI product work Core skills we’re looking for: Strong machine learning experience Strong traditional software engineering background Python Node.js TypeScript LLMs RAG Vector databases Agentic AI systems Workflow automation API integrations Backend engineering You’ll be a strong fit if you: Have built real AI systems beyond prototypes Can design and ship reliable backend services Understand retrieval, ranking, chunking, embeddings, and evaluation Have experience integrating LLMs into business workflows Can work with ambiguity and move quickly Are comfortable working with client-facing teams Can turn vague business problems into working technical solutions Care about practical delivery, not just experimentation Nice to have: Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar Experience with Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma, pgvector, or similar Experience with document processing, OCR, structured extraction, or enterprise search Experience in consulting, enterprise delivery, SaaS, or startup environments About Conquer AI Conquer AI builds bespoke agentic AI systems for enterprise clients. We work with clients to understand their workflows, identify where AI can automate or augment work, and build practical systems that operate inside their existing environment. Our work spans document intelligence, workflow automation, knowledge retrieval, operational copilots, AI agents, data extraction, and enterprise integrations.
