ANSHULTECH is seeking an experienced (10+ years of leading data science projects or teams) Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Agentic Data Engineer, for our customer, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDoT) at 1401 E Broad St, Richmond, VA 23219.
Location: This position is open to Washington DC Metro Area Local Candidates ONLY! Please do not apply if you do not live in Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia.

Education: M.S. or Ph.D in a STEM field (Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics)
The Virginia Department of Transportation's Information Technology Division is seeking a highly skilled Artificial Intelligence Engineer 4- Agentic Data Engineer to design, develop, train and deploy data models that leverage agentic AI that solve real-world problems.
Responsibilities:
β’ Gather business needs and translate them to analytics.
β’ Produce code that is clearly documented and maintain a version-control system.
β’ Develop machine learning models that will address business needs.
β’ Effectively communicate analytics results to a range of stakeholders.
Qualifications:
β’ Demonstrated ability to perform research and communicate analyses to a wide range of audiences.
β’ Co-author or principal investigator for 5 or more peer-reviewed publications using advanced computational or statistical analyses and/or advanced ML methods.
β’ 10+ years of leading data science projects or teams.
β’ Gathers business requirements needed for analytics.
β’ Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
β’ Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning, model selection, feature engineering, and evaluation metrics.
β’ Experience with Big Data frameworks like Spark/Databricks.
β’ Experience with code version-control systems such as Git.
β’ Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
Required Skills:
β’ 10 years of Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R
β’ 10 years of Knowledge of SQL Databases
β’ 5 Years of Experience with Spark, GraphDB, Azure Databricks
β’ 4 years of Experience training LLMs with structured and unstructured data sets
β’ 4 years of Experience with Machine Learning
β’ 2 years of Experience with GIS spatial data
