Role description
Are you passionate about marketing analytics and teaching? Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an Associate Lecturer to teach next Spring term 2026.
Birkbeck Business School is looking to recruit a part-time, fixed-term Associate Lecturer to teach the module:-
Marketing Analytics - undergraduate
13.5 hours, teaching on Tuesdays 6pm-7.30pm
Spring Term, January - August 2026.
The module is designed to develop students’ understanding of how to measure, predict, and critically evaluate brand performance using big data. It builds a clear understanding of the relevance of brand value and explores major trends in the theory and practice of brand valuation. Students will work with large datasets and will be required to evaluate brand value using SPSS and AMOS software.
The module delivery:
Module is taught through a combination of lectures and weekly in-person classes.
Lectures and reading materials are already in place; while there is scope to revise and enhance them, this is not a requirement.
You'll lead the weekly in-person sessions, designed to be interactive rather than lecture-based, with a focus on exercises and problem-solving.
The role also includes marking assignments.
The Module Convenor, named below as the key contact, will oversee the module and provide ongoing support to the appointed individual.
A successful Associate Lecturer should:
Possess sound knowledge of marketing and statistics for analytics.
Demonstrate a commitment to student learning and academic development.
Be able to engage students actively in interactive sessions.
If you have knowledge in these areas, and you are an excellent and innovative teacher with a track record of student engagement, and want to contribute to an impactful educational experience - apply with us at Birkbeck today.
Remuneration:
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £69.68 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
Contract:
Fixed-term, January - August 2026, part-time contract. Please submit an application form for consideration. Closing date: Monday 5 October 2025, interview date: Wednesday 15 October 2025.
