Role description
immi
Location: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)
Stage: Pre-seed / MVP
Commitment: Full-time
Compensation: Equity-first + sales-based upside (no base salary initially)
About immi
immi is building a legal-tech platform focused on immigration law—one of the most complex, high-stakes, and underserved areas of the legal system. Our mission is to reduce friction, cost, and confusion for immigrants and the attorneys who serve them by modernizing legal intake, case understanding, and client-lawyer collaboration.
We are pre-seed, founder-led, and actively building our MVP.
The Role
We are looking for an Associate Technical Founder on a CTO track—someone who wants real ownership, not a job title. This is a founding-level role for a technical leader who will architect, build, and scale immi’s core platform alongside the founder.
You will help define:
• Technical architecture
• Product feasibility and sequencing
• Early engineering standards
• What immi becomes as a platform
What You’ll Do
• Architect and further develop immi’s MVP (Legal Tech B2B SaaS)
• Lead engineering decisions across backend, frontend, and infrastructure
• Design scalable, auditable systems appropriate for legal workflows
• Collaborate closely with the founder on product, roadmap, and go-to-market
• Own core technical systems end-to-end (from prototype to production)
• Help evaluate and integrate tools (e.g., APIs, databases, AI workflows—used carefully and responsibly)
Who You Are
• Strong software engineer with experience building and shipping products
• Familiar with B2B SaaS, product engineering, and early-stage tradeoffs
• Comfortable making architectural decisions under uncertainty
• Interested in legal tech, regulated industries, or complex user workflows
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and willing to build before things are perfect
Bonus (not required):
• Experience in legal tech, immigration law, or compliance-heavy products
• Prior startup or founding experience
• Experience with modern web stacks, cloud infrastructure, or AI-enabled systems
Compensation & Structure
• Equity-based compensation with meaningful ownership
• Sales-based upside as revenue comes online
• Title and responsibilities scale toward CTO
• Salary to be discussed once funding or revenue milestones are reached
This role is for someone who wants to build and own, not just contribute.
Serious candidates only.Please Send:
• A short note on why you want to build immi
• Examples of products you’ve built or shipped
