Role description
Job Title: Atlassian Engineer
Location: Seattle, willing to work onsite 3-4 days a week
Duration: 6 months
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and maintain custom scripts and macros for Atlassian Confluence and Jira using tools like ScriptRunner, Groovy, and Atlassian SDK.
β’ Design, implement, and optimize automated workflows that enhance team collaboration and operational efficiency.
β’ Integrate Atlassian tools with third-party systems via REST APIs or custom plugins.
β’ Customize and extend Atlassian platform capabilities using Java and Atlassian APIs.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable solutions.
β’ Establish best practices and documentation standards for Atlassian content, spaces, and workflows.
β’ Perform system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability and performance.
β’ Provide technical support and mentorship on Atlassian tooling and workflow automation.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of professional experience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira).
β’ Expertise in scripting languages used with Atlassian (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript).
β’ Strong Java development skills with experience building plugins or extensions for Atlassian platforms.
β’ Experience with Atlassian SDK, REST APIs, and webhooks.
β’ Proven ability to develop and manage complex workflows and automation within Jira and Confluence.
β’ Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments and continuous integration/deployment practices.
β’ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Experience with enterprise-scale Confluence or Jira migrations.
β’ Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
β’ Familiarity with additional Atlassian Marketplace apps and scripting tools.
β’ Atlassian certification(s) is a plus.
