Role description
A large financial services end customer in the banking sector is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to support a major transformation programme, working on behalf of a Microsoft Gold Partner. This is a contract role operating inside IR35 via an umbrella company, with an expectation of 2 days per week onsite in Manchester.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in enhancing the DevOps and AWS capability across a suite of cloud contact centre technologies and services. The successful candidate will collaborate with a wide range of technology teams, both internal and external, to deliver robust, scalable, and secure automation solutions across complex infrastructure.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
• Strong end-to-end infrastructure knowledge, including networking, firewalls, load balancers, and application servers
• Experience with test automation, test-driven development (TDD), and Agile delivery methodologies
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, ELK, AWS CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, etc.
• Working knowledge of cloud contact centre platforms and tools
• A strong automation-first mindset and practical experience in CI/CD pipeline development
• Experience working within large enterprise environments and cross-functional technology teams
Responsibilities Include:
• Collaborating with development and operations teams to resolve bottlenecks and streamline the software delivery lifecycle
• Designing and building automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines across multiple cloud platforms
• Supporting the creation, evolution, and maintenance of DevOps pipelines aligned with security and platform standards
• Promoting reuse, consistency, and best practices across the DevOps landscape
• Gaining insight into end-to-end customer contact technologies and services
• Partnering with wider DevOps teams across the bank to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement
• Actively engaging in personal development to stay current with emerging tools, methods, and standards
