Job Description:
Quantech Services is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team in Hanover, MD. The ideal candidate is a seasoned cloud engineer with proven experience in DoD cloud technology (AWS), Python programming, and Linux systems. This role contributes to the development of custom software components and open-source integration for time series analysis using advanced Big Data and cloud technology.
This is a hybrid role with work performed both on-site in Hanover and Columbia, MD.
Job Duties:
β’ Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS
β’ Enhance, optimize, and increase the robustness of an existing code base using strong systems integration skills
β’ Define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud using modern tools
β’ Design and implement core architecture and software capabilities from prototype to production
β’ Other duties as assigned
Other Required Experience:
β’ Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda)
β’ 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
β’ Experience writing in Python and working with the Linux command line
β’ Experience designing, building, and managing infrastructure in accordance with DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG)
β’ Experience automating cloud configuration using tools such as Terraform, AWS Config, Ansible, etc.
β’ Ability to work independently and identify areas for improvement
β’ Collaboration with platform architects on strategic architectural changes
β’ Strong understanding of cloud networking best practices
β’ Excellent oral and written communication skills
β’ Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, with 3 4 days per week at the Fort Meade, MD customer site or Columbia, MD office
β’ Flexibility is essential to accommodate schedule changes
