Role: AWS Cloud Engineer with Java & Python Location: Dallas, TX Need Locals Only (Onsite 3–4 times per year, otherwise remote) Need 15+ Years of experience in AWS Cloud Using Java & Python also Serverless Lambda Job Description Our client is seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer with strong experience in Java and Python to join their team. This is a hybrid role where the candidate will need to travel onsite to Dallas, TX approximately 3–4 times per year. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS cloud solutions, hands-on development with Java and Python, and the ability to work in a standalone team, taking ownership of technical delivery and running SCRUMs daily. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications leveraging AWS cloud services. • Lead efforts in migrating from SQL to DynamoDB, ensuring high performance and reliability. • Support database upgrade and burn capacity planning. • Work with AWS DMS (Database Migration Service) for seamless data transition. • Implement solutions integrating AI with Amazon Q. • Contribute to the Java-to-Python transition, ensuring best practices in code quality and performance. • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, with an expectation to run daily SCRUMs for the standalone team. Required Skills & Experience ✅ Strong AWS cloud engineering background. ✅ Proficiency in Python development (must have). ✅ Hands-on experience with Java and migration from Java to Python. ✅ Experience with DynamoDB and SQL databases. ✅ Knowledge of AWS Database Migration Service (DMS). ✅ Familiarity with AI/ML solutions on AWS (Amazon Q). ✅ Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently while driving a small team. Nice to Have • Prior experience leading or mentoring small teams. • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in cloud environments. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum best practices in standalone teams.
