AWS Cloud Engineer Irvine, CA/Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid) Long-Term Contract Job ID 25-09786 Solugenix is assisting a client, a prestigious and large investment management company, in their search for an AWS Cloud Engineer. This is a long-term contract opportunity based out of Irvine, CA/Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid). We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in AWS, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and scripting, with a proven ability to build scalable, resilient, and production-ready systems. Qualifications & Skills: • Solid experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles. • Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, EKS, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.). • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation. • Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS) and Helm for application orchestration. • Solid knowledge of Docker and container lifecycle management. • Strong experience with Linux administration. • Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation. • Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation (Harness preferred). • Experience building production-resilient infrastructure with disaster recovery strategies. • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to work cross-functionally. Preferred Qualifications: • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer). • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.). • Experience with compliance and security frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO, etc.). Key Responsibilities: • Build and manage AWS infrastructure across multi-AZ and multi-region environments. • Ensure systems are highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster recovery ready. • Develop and maintain Terraform code to automate provisioning and scaling of infrastructure. • Manage version-controlled infrastructure repositories with CI/CD integration. • Deploy and manage Kubernetes (AWS EKS) clusters. • Implement and optimize Helm charts for application deployments. • Oversee Docker container logistics, ensuring efficient and secure containerized environments. • Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Harness and custom pipelines). • Integrate automated testing, monitoring, and security controls into deployment workflows. • Configure and script AWS networking, VPCs, subnets, routing, and security groups. • Leverage Linux systems administration for infrastructure management. • Write automation and deployment scripts using Bash and Python. • Partner with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery pipelines. • Document infrastructure processes and provide knowledge transfer to team members. Pay Range for CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC: $75/hour to $85/hour. Starting rate of pay offered may vary depending on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
