AWS Data Engineer / Architect (OpenSearch Experience Required)

We are supporting an AWS Premier Partner with an urgent requirement for a hands-on, AWS-Data Engineer / Architect who has deep, real-world experience with AWS OpenSearch in production environments. Role Overview • Title: AWS Data Engineer / Architect (OpenSearch) • Contract Length: 2 months (March 9 – May 3), strong potential for extension • Location: Fully remote • Time Zone: Must work PST hours What You’ll Be Doing • Optimize and stabilize production-grade AWS OpenSearch environments • Tune clusters, queries, indexing strategies, and overall capacity • Design and implement snapshot, restore, and backup strategies • Build, manage, and maintain index templates • Act as the go-to architect for search performance and best practices • Provide architectural guidance while remaining hands-on Required Experience • 5+ years working with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch in production • Strong AWS-native background, including managed OpenSearch services • Proven experience delivering search performance optimization • Comfortable working independently and owning outcomes end to end • Clear, confident communication skills in a consulting environment
