AWS Data Engineer

DETAILS: Domain: Financial Position: AWS Data Engineer Duration: 6 - 12 Months (Contract to Hire) Location: Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid – 3 days/Week Onsite) Responsibilities: • Lead the design, development, enhancement, and cloud migration of the enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring alignment with business goals and data governance. • Manage full lifecycle delivery from requirements gathering to production deployment across on-premise and cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS). • Architect scalable cloud data solutions using Snowflake, DBT, and AWS-native services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Airflow). • Implement ELT/ETL pipelines using tools like DBT. • Lead, coach, and mentor onshore and offshore development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. • Act as a technical escalation point, resolving issues and proposing alternative solutions to ensure system reliability and performance. • Serve as the subject matter expert in database application delivery and optimization, with deep expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. • Oversee release management and post-production support to ensure smooth transitions and minimal business disruption. • Lead application migration efforts to cloud-based architectures and support remediation of existing implementations accessing data warehouses and lakes. Requirements: • 15+ years of experience in IT, with 8+ years in Data Warehouse development and support. • 5+ years of experience working with Snowflake, AWS services, and modern ELT tools. • Proven experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling. • Advanced SQL skills, including 6+ years of experience with enterprise databases. • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
