Position: AWS Data Engineer
Duration: 6 - 12 Months (Contract to Hire)
Location: Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid β 3 days/Week Onsite)
Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the design, development, enhancement, and cloud migration of the enterprise Data Warehouse, ensuring alignment with business goals and data governance.
β’ Manage full lifecycle delivery from requirements gathering to production deployment across on-premise and cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS).
β’ Architect scalable cloud data solutions using Snowflake, DBT, and AWS-native services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Airflow).
β’ Implement ELT/ETL pipelines using tools like DBT.
β’ Lead, coach, and mentor onshore and offshore development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
β’ Act as a technical escalation point, resolving issues and proposing alternative solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
β’ Serve as the subject matter expert in database application delivery and optimization, with deep expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
β’ Oversee release management and post-production support to ensure smooth transitions and minimal business disruption.
β’ Lead application migration efforts to cloud-based architectures and support remediation of existing implementations accessing data warehouses and lakes.
Requirements:
β’ 15+ years of experience in IT, with 8+ years in Data Warehouse development and support.
β’ 5+ years of experience working with Snowflake, AWS services, and modern ELT tools.
β’ Proven experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
β’ Advanced SQL skills, including 6+ years of experience with enterprise databases.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science or related field.
