AWS DevOps Engineer
12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Full-Time | Fully Remote (UK-based)
£70,000 to £80,000 plus benefits
We’re looking for an experienced AWS Engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on large-scale, cloud-native applications that are critical to our customers’ experience and business growth. You’ll be developing and optimising solutions within AWS, ensuring performance, reliability, and security remain top-notch.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance solutions on AWS.
• Continuously monitor and optimise AWS infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, and Operations to ensure seamless deployments.
• Implement and maintain best-practice security and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and lead incident response efforts when needed.
• Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
• Apply design patterns and test-driven design (TDD) principles to ensure robust, maintainable code.
• Interpret business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years’ experience in AWS development or a related engineering role.
• Strong expertise across AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Solid experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
• Advanced scripting and development skills – ideally TypeScript (experience with JavaScript or Go is also welcome).
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
• Knowledge of design patterns, coding standards, and unit testing frameworks.
• Experience applying TDD principles in real-world projects.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Desirable: Experience with AWS OpenSearch and/or relevant AWS certifications.
