Job Title: AWS Engineer
Location: Houston ,TX (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Terraform and a proven track record in the Energy or Utilities domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure on AWS, using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
·Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
·Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
·Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, and business stakeholders to understand infrastructure requirements.
·Optimize AWS environments for performance, cost, and compliance specific to the Energy domain (e.g., smart grid, renewables, energy trading platforms).
·Ensure high standards of security and compliance based on industry best practices and regulatory frameworks.
·Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across production and non-production environments.
·Manage CI/CD pipelines and support containerized workloads (e.g., ECS, EKS, Docker)
·Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure and processes.
·Required Skills & Experience:
·5+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and architecture.
·Strong expertise in Terraform for IaC development and automation.
·Experience in designing and maintaining VPCs, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and other AWS services.
·Prior experience in the Energy / Utilities domain – knowledge of common data models, compliance requirements, and industry workflows.
·Proficient in CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.).
·Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
·Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
·Strong understanding of cloud security principles and cost optimization.
·Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
·AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.
·Familiarity with energy sector standards such as NERC CIP, IEC 61850, or OpenADR.
·Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.
·Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
