Role description
Fimador is currently partnering with a global financial services firm operating across multiple asset classes. As part of its strategic growth, the firm’s market-making division is establishing a new trading operation focused on high-touch, low-latency execution for Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) and Delta One products. The company is investing in building a modern AWS-based infrastructure to replace physical servers, supporting its first major initiative: deploying a proprietary trading platform on a new database with critical API connections to external vendors. Role Overview: The firm is seeking a motivated AWS Engineer to support the buildout of its core cloud infrastructure on AWS. This role will involve close collaboration with a Senior AWS & Network Engineer to deliver a secure, scalable, and resilient environment underpinning trading operations. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the design, implementation, and management of AWS infrastructure to host trading applications and databases. • Help build secure, high-availability VPC networks, incorporating IAM roles, security groups, and VPN connections to external vendors and data providers. • Support the deployment and configuration of AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, and related components. • Contribute to automation initiatives, employing Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or CloudFormation) to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments. • Assist with the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to facilitate controlled releases and testing cycles. • Participate in efforts to implement disaster recovery, data backups, and business continuity strategies. • Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure designs, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks. Ideal Experience & Qualifications: • 3–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps, ideally with hands-on exposure to AWS. • Practical knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC). • Understanding of Linux systems administration and shell scripting (Bash, Python, or equivalent). • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnets, routing, VPN). Preferred: • Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). • Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines and integrating with Git-based workflows.
