Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Solutions Architect for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on architecture experience, can engage with both technical and business stakeholders, and is comfortable transitioning into a long-term role.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect AWS cloud solutions aligned with business, security, and performance requirements
Lead cloud architecture discussions, solution designs, and technical decision-making
Develop and review AWS reference architectures, diagrams, and design documentation
Support cloud migrations from on-prem or hybrid environments to AWS
Implement best practices for scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization
Work closely with DevOps, application, data, and security teams to ensure seamless integration
Provide guidance on Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
Mentor engineers and provide architectural oversight during implementation
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Required Qualifications
7+ years of overall IT experience with 4+ years of hands-on AWS architecture experience
Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and Route 53
Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud architectures
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in AWS
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments
Exposure to containerization and Kubernetes
Experience supporting regulated or enterprise environments (Utilities, Energy, Finance, Healthcare a plus)
