Role description
Job Title: AWS Technical Lead (Java / Python / Kubernetes) Location: Denver, CO Employment Type: Contract with a potential chance of fulltime conversion Role Overview We are looking for an experienced AWS Technical Lead with strong Java and Python development expertise and hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on AWS. The ideal candidate will lead cloud-native development initiatives, guide engineering teams, and ensure scalable, reliable deployments using AWS services and Kubernetes. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud-native applications using Java and Python. • Architect and implement scalable solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). • Manage and optimize application deployment pipelines in AWS environments. • Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes. • Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure CI/CD automation and infrastructure reliability. • Provide technical leadership and code reviews to development teams. • Ensure best practices around cloud security, performance optimization, and cost management. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure and application issues. • Work closely with architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of software engineering experience. • Strong programming experience in Java and Python. • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, EKS, and CloudWatch. • Experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes (EKS or other K8s platforms). • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker). • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs. • Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer). • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools in cloud environments. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
