About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a part-time, long-term AWS migration project. The core focus of this role is building and managing migration wave plans β coordinating with application teams to define and sequence workloads for phased migration to AWS.
This position is ideal for experienced professionals who have directly supported enterprise-level AWS migrations and can operate independently in remote, cross-functional environments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct application portfolio analysis to assess cloud migration readiness
Work with technical and business stakeholders to define migration groups ("waves")
Build, maintain, and update detailed AWS migration wave lists
Track migration progress, risks, blockers, and milestones across teams
Support strategy documentation and planning sessions
Operate with minimal oversight in a highly collaborative remote environment
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise IT environments
Direct experience supporting AWS cloud migrations
Proven experience building or owning migration wave plans
Strong coordination and documentation skills with cross-functional teams
Experience gathering technical and business readiness data
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect certification
CBAP or PMI-PBA certification
Familiarity with portfolio tools like Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or JIRA
Experience with data center exit or legacy modernization efforts
Additional Requirements
Must reside in the U.S. and be authorized to work without sponsorship
Available to work ~20 hours/week through May 8, 2026
Fully remote (U.S.-based only)
