Azure Cloud Engineer – (Cloud Automation, Security & Migration) – Remote Day rate: £300 - £500 (inside IR35) Duration: 12 months Start: ASAP My new client is looking for 2 highly skilled Azure Cloud Operations Engineer with a strong background in infrastructure automation, cloud migration, and security enforcement. This role focuses on building and maintaining secure, automated, and scalable Azure environments while enabling enterprise-level cloud adoption. Responsibilities • Design, build, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) and automation scripting (Python, PowerShell). • Lead and support cloud migration projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance. • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated deployments. • Enforce cloud security policies including RBAC, policy-as-code, and Zero Trust architecture. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions in an agile environment, writing user stories, tasks, and acceptance criteria. • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot Azure environments to ensure reliability, cost efficiency, and security. • Partner with security teams to drive cloud security automation and compliance enforcement. Required Skills • Proven expertise with Azure services (compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring). • Strong proficiency in Terraform (Infrastructure as Code). • Hands-on experience with Python and PowerShell scripting. • Solid understanding of Zero Trust principles and cloud security best practices. • Experience building CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or similar tools. • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. • Agile delivery mindset, including the ability to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical tasks.
