AZURE Data Architect with MS Fabric :::: Hybrid in San Diego, CA

Role – AZURE Data Architect Notice Period - Immediate Joiner Location - San Diego (Onsite, Hybrid) Role summary The Data Architect / Solution Architect will be responsible for leading the discovery, assessment, and design of an enterprise data platform. The role requires close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders to assess the current data landscape, evaluate Microsoft Fabric capabilities, and develop target-state architectural recommendations and implementation guidance. Key responsibilities • Lead project kick-off meetings and drive stakeholder alignment across business and IT teams • Perform technical discovery in collaboration with IT and data engineering teams to assess current architectures, tools, and integration patterns • Review and analyse existing documentation, including data dictionaries, architecture diagrams, and technical artifacts • Facilitate business workshops to identify use cases, define KPIs, and capture analytics and reporting requirements • Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments on representative datasets to evaluate completeness, accuracy, and consistency • Evaluate Microsoft Fabric capabilities, architecture options, and licensing considerations to ensure platform alignment • Develop findings, target-state architectural designs, and technical recommendations aligned with business objectives • Present architectural recommendations to stakeholders and refine designs based on feedback • Finalize and deliver all discovery, assessment, and design documentation and artefacts Required Skills & Experience • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise data platform design • Strong experience designing modern data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and analytics solutions • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services; Microsoft Fabric experience preferred • Strong understanding of data integration, ETL/ELT, data modelling, and analytics architectures • Experience conducting technical discovery and leading architecture workshops • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance considerations • Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Synapse, or Azure Data Factory • Experience in regulated environments (GxP, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR) • Azure or Microsoft architecture certifications
