Job Role: Data Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid Onsite)
Pay Rate: $50/hr. on W2
No. of Interviews: 3 rounds 30 minute each
Job Summary
We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in data engineering, data migrations, and data modeling to join a product development team building modern web and mobile software platforms. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining reliable data pipelines, migration frameworks, and APIs that support complex, high-volume business systems.
You will work closely with software engineers and product teams to move, transform, validate, and reconcile data across systems while ensuring accuracy, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, and execute data migrations between systems, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
β’ Develop and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and internal data management tools
β’ Analyze source and target schemas and model data for scalability and performance
β’ Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across environments
β’ Participate in the full software lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile development environment
β’ Contribute to automation, testing strategies, and continuous delivery practices
Languages & Frameworks
β’ Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python
β’ Experience building production scripts or services for data movement and validation
β’ Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
β’ Experience with backend frameworks such as Node.js / Express
β’ Experience with modern data platforms; Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric preferred
β’ Strong experience with comparable cloud and data integration technologies is also acceptable
β’ Hands-on production experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
β’ Strong experience with SQL Server and MongoDB preferred
β’ Comfortable writing complex queries, modeling schemas, and resolving data quality issues during migrations
β’ Experience using Git/GitHub or similar version control systems
β’ Familiarity with automated pipeline deployment and schema promotion to production
β’ Strong understanding of agile methodologies and continuous delivery concepts
β’ Experience with REST APIs, JSON, security best practices, performance tuning, and testing
β’ Interest in data quality, test strategy, and test automation
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or a related field
β’ 5+ years of experience delivering production-grade data or software solutions
