Job Title: Azure Data Engineer
Location: London (2-3 Days a week)
Duration: 6 Months (Long-term programme)
Daily Rate: £500 Per Day (Inside IR35)
Overview:
Lumora Solutions is representing a global systems integrator that is looking to hire an Azure Data Engineer on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong view to extension.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising enterprise-scale cloud data platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric and the wider Azure ecosystem.
What you will be doing:
• Designing and building scalable cloud-native data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks
• Developing high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark/PySpark across enterprise data environments
• Supporting Azure Synapse and ADF migration initiatives into Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, OneLake, and notebooks
• Driving best practices across security, performance optimisation, CI/CD, data quality, and cloud governance
• Collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring engineers, and contributing to strategic data engineering delivery
What you will bring:
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, and distributed data processing technologies
• Proven expertise across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and Data Lake technologies
• Strong understanding of data engineering principles, ETL/ELT design, cloud-native architecture, and scalable pipeline development
• Experience delivering secure, high-performing, and cost-optimised cloud data solutions, including CI/CD and DevOps practices
